An old vehicle that has been extravagantly decorated in preparation for the Mongol Rally 2014. Jermey Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond look out, your Top Gear road trips are about to look proper wimpy! That's because the No Turning Back team of Alec & Harry are about to start their engines and take off on the epic Mongol Rally

Described by the event organisers as the "Greatest Adventure in the World", the Mongol Rally is a charity rally through 21 countries starting in London and ending in Ulaanbaatar, and Crystal Ball is helping you follow their progress every step of the way...

The back of an old car that has been decorated extravagantly in preparation for the 2014 Mongol Rally. KTwo Sales & Hire Ltd; one of our vehicle tracking customers, contacted us back in June to ask if we could help them track their 13 year old, 1 litre, Suzuki Swift, across 5 Mountain Ranges, 3 Deserts, 2 Continents in 50 days, all in the name of Charity. Cool Earth to be exact!

We agreed and set our developers straight to work creating a custom version of our soon to be released shared public maps functionality.

While the mapping system was being tweaked, our support team put together "the package"... ok so it's not exactly the stuff Q dishes out to James Bond, but we think it's pretty cool.

"The Package" contained:

So with everything tested and in place, donate button at the ready...

A bright pink button that says 'donate' with an arrow pointing towards it that reads 'hint'.

...we can now reveal the No Turning Back team's Mongol Rally Map:

Although there is not much movement right now (we're guessing Alec and Harry are probably grabbing a final forty winks before the chaos begins), you can check out the live tracking map here
They embark on their outward bound journey on Saturday from the starting link in Battersea Park, London.

Finally the team at Crystal Ball would like to wish the boys the best of luck, a safe journey and an awesome time.
We will be posting updates on their progress throughout the Rally and have promised to donate £10 for each country they manage to pass through.

Good luck, and may the puncture repair kit make as few appearances as possible!

UPDATE: The Boys are back in town!  Check out our three part return inteview starting here:
